Dear Friend,
I’m writing today instead of Friday because I have a minor surgery planned for tomorrow, and it got me thinking… about how fragile and precious life can feel when we pause long enough to notice it. How easy it is to keep moving and forget to take care of ourselves.
So, as we step into the weekend, I wanted to send you a small reminder to fall in love again,with the simple things that make us human.
Try these;
- Pause and breathe slowly, right now. Feel the air moving and your body soften.
- Wrap yourself in your favorite blanket. Let it hold you for a while. Remember what it was like to feel the warmth and safety of a hug.
- Send a message to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while. Just: “I thought of you today and I’m glad you’re in the world.”
- Choose one food this weekend and eat it with attention: the smell, the taste, the texture. Thank it.
- Step outside for five minutes. Look up. Listen. Let nature remind you you’re part of it.
- Pet your animal friend—or imagine the warmth of one. Let their trust remind you how easy it is to give love back.
- When family, or chosen family, gathers, let your presence be the gift. Not perfect words, just you.
And if you find yourself tempted to sigh at all that’s wrong, pause. Then remember there are more reasons to breathe than to sigh.
That’s it. That’s the whole thing. No pressure to fix, prove, or push. Just the quiet work of remembering what matters.
You are doing enough. You are enough.
And if no one has said it lately, I’m glad you’re here.
With love,
Your friend
