Something New is Growing and I Want You to Be Part of It

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that making things has always been at the center of what I do. Candles. Soap. Flowers. Whatever the medium, the impulse has always been the same: to take raw materials and turn them into something worth holding.
Three weeks ago Larry and I made a big change. We left our home in La Grande and moved into a cottage in Baker City. Smaller space. Simpler life. And something unexpected happened almost immediately. When you let go of the big house and the big life that goes with it, you find yourself more fully in your own body. More honest about what you love. More willing to actually do the things you were always saving for later.
For me, those things involve paint and flowers and resin and wax and whatever else catches my curiosity next.
Homebody Creations is the space I’ve been quietly building from that place. It’s part creative community, part monthly challenge, part permission slip for anyone who has ever looked at a Pinterest board full of saved projects and thought: someday.
‘Homebody’ means two things to me. It means I create from home. And it means being at home in your own body. Knowing who you are and giving yourself permission to express it without apology. Downsizing gave me that. Making gives me that. I want to share it.
Every month I pick a theme and make as many projects as I can with it. I try the things that look intimidating. I figure out what works and what doesn’t. And I bring you along for all of it.
Why am I telling you first?
Because you already know me. You’ve trusted me with your homes, your gifts, your celebrations. You know that when I put my hands to something I mean it. This is no different. It’s just a bigger table with more chairs.
I would love for you to pull up a chair.
Come see what we’re making at homebodycreations.com. And if you have a friend who saves ideas more than she makes them, send her this. She’ll know exactly what I mean.
This is just the beginning.
With gratitude,
Jan💕
